Based on the idea the WORK IS HEALING, the Clubhouse Day Program pairs the goals of the person with the needs of the nonprofit. This meaningful work improves one's skills, enhances quality of life and provides real-life work experience to return to employment.
Divided in Work Units, members work side by side with staff to complete the Work of the Day.
The day starts at 9:00 with a Morning Meeting followed by jobs in the Work Units. Lunch is prepared at 11:00 a.m. by our Culinary Unit. Afternoon groups begin at 12:45 and may include a variety of activities such as exercise, art, meditation, educational speakers and wellness topics.
Members engage in tasks such as writing stories for the newsletter, working the reception desk, computer tasks, and planning outings and special events.
Members prepare lunch daily, serve the meals, and plan the menu. Members can obtain their Food Handlers Card to prepare for work in the Food Service Industry.
Members handle inventory, restock supplies, complete inspections and perform the necessary cleaning and light repairs to maintain the facility.
